The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery in conjunction with the Canada Council offer a series of summer artists residencies in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Since the beginning of Landfall Trust in 2005, the Trust has partnered with The Rooms to annually co-sponsor a residency at Kent Cottage from mid-June to mid-July every year.
Visual artists ranging from painters to installation and multi-media artists and hailing from across Canada and abroad have availed of this opportunity to be inspired to creativity in this idyllic retreat. And thus the tradition of artists residing at the cottage and finding inspiration for their art continues on from the days of Rockwell Kent and A.E. Harris.
I have enriched my practice and self so much here, quietly reading, drawing and hiking. Thank you for recognizing the need for a place like Landfall in our busy and hectic modern world.
